McBride's Call is stylistically contemporary while being faithful it's 19th century Irish/British setting. Its lively celebration of Irish tradition, music, and dance contrasts and compliments the culture of high society of Victorian England. The script follows the spirit of its biblical source material while layering over it, a historical narrative of people and events of the British Isles in the 1840's. A large cast of characters weaves an intricate story full of both drama and humor. This production offers healthy challenges to actor and director with its period costumes, historic London settings, Irish dancing and Irish or British accents required.
